Job Title: Trainee Quality Controller
Location: Redditch
Salary: £23,500 per year
Shift: Day Shift
Job Type: Permanent (No hybrid or remote working)
Our client, a leading company in the coatings industry, is seeking a Trainee Quality Controller to join their dynamic team in Redditch. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in chemistry to build a rewarding career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality checking of paint and paint samples.
- Liaison with Laboratory Management in respect of new product development.
- Investigation of customer complaints regarding both new and existing products.
- Documentation of all development work in accordance with the company’s QA Manual.
- Observation and documentation of weathering, corrosion resistance, and mechanical tests.
- Continuation of ongoing training, including review of technical journals and raw material supplier information to gain thorough knowledge of new raw materials, developments, and technologies.
- Thorough understanding of all laboratory quality control procedures, laboratory machinery, and safety products.
- Assisting in the Quality Control Department as necessary.
- Supervising trial production batches for new products.
- Performing additional tasks as reasonably requested by management.
Requirements:
- A-level in Chemistry or a similar relatable qualification - Essential
- A demonstratable strong interest in chemistry. - Essential
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for liaising with management and investigating customer complaints.
- Proactive attitude towards ongoing training and development.
- Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous but not essential.
