The Vacancy
Uniserve, a leading logistics and freight forwarding company, seeks a driven and organised Transport Planning Supervisor to join our growing team.
Shift pattern 52/53 Week One 1000hr – 1900hr Week Two 0600hr to 1600hr
What you'll do:
- Oversee the activities of our transport fleet, ensuring smooth operations.
- Plan and approve efficient transport routes that comply with regulations (WTD & drivers' hours).
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide clear instructions to drivers.
- Develop cost-effective transport plans using customer IT software.
- Support the Transport Planning Manager in driving departmental success.
- Monitor transport management software and ensure departmental efficiency.
- Liaise with depots, customers, and sales teams to resolve delivery issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Uphold health & safety regulations within the department.
- Bridge the gap between sales and operations, fostering a seamless customer experience.
You bring:
- Experience in transport planning.
- Knowledge of transport legislation.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience with transport management systems.
- Team leadership experience.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach.
- Ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Commitment to upholding SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) policies.
