Job Description

The National Gallery is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Travel Trade Sales Manager to join the team during an exciting period, as the attraction celebrates its bicentenary with a year filled with high-profile exhibitions and openings.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Work to revenue targets and KPIs set by HOHE and HOLSTE to develop a sales strategy for B2B sales for trade and groups designed to meet and exceed plan.
  2. Assist the HOHE with forecasting expected revenue and managing expenditure of the travel trade budget.
  3. Research and identify new markets and trends to increase revenue.
  4. Review pricing structure annually benchmarking against similar attractions.
  5. Manage all contracts and negotiate commission with partners.
  6. Convert and upsell any group or private enquiry (B2C).
  7. Maintain a portfolio of partner accounts and oversee account management of new travel trade partners.
  8. Build the reputation and reach of the National Gallery through travel trade partnerships, building relationships with tour operators and B2C business operators.
  9. Plan and execute travel trade marketing sales campaigns, developed closely with Marketing teams and with an understanding of NG brand and USPs.
  10. Work closely with the marketing team to develop collateral for trade shows, websites, and 3rd party partners. Assist with the copy and imagery for marketing materials.
  11. Develop and build relationships with trade associations and other attractions to raise the National Gallery’s profile within the travel trade.
  12. Host familiarization trips, provide training, and attend relevant trade shows, meetings, seminars, and networking opportunities.
  13. Act as a representative for the National Gallery at all key industry events.
  14. Stakeholder engagement (internal/external) to share awareness, information, and agree on activity.
  15. Compile regular weekly and monthly reports relating to the financial performance of Groups & Travel Trade.
  16. Analyse data to identify and react accordingly to address gaps in sales.
  17. Identify trends in the marketplace and react accordingly.
  18. Work closely with the Product Team within Loyalty, Sales & Ticketed Experiences on a cycle of feedback, analysis, and new product demand.
  19. Manage 3rd party integration onto the API (Ventrata), building in tickets to the system, closing off or opening dates in the back end.
  20. Support the Travel Trade & Events Co-ordinator with the Travel Trade inbox to assist in dealing with sales enquiries and operational requests.
  21. Ability to create long-lasting commercial relationships.
  22. Strong multi-tasking skills and prioritisation ability.
  23. An effective team player with a positive attitude, highly motivated and passionate with a commercial focus.
  24. Extensive experience in a similar role with experience of working specifically within the travel trade sector.
  25. Significant experience in developing and delivering against an annual travel trade sales plan.
  26. Established contacts and knowledge of sales and marketing principles within the Travel Trade industry.
  27. Experience of working with online ticketing systems. Ventrata desirable.
  28. Proven experience of preparing and presenting comprehensive reporting on all aspects of a complex sales operation to senior management level.
