Currently, we are recruiting a Junior Repair Technician in West Yorkshire.
What will you be doing in this role?
Tunstall has a large catalogue of parts that have been developed over the past 30 years for our bespoke products, you will be responsible for high quality repair and maintenance of these parts to ensure we continue to deliver our excellent customer service.
What do you need, to be successful?
Studying part time towards a suitable Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC/BTEC National Certificate.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Diagnose and repair product in the most effective and efficient manner
Setup and configure mobile phone and tablet devices
Identify functions of a circuit using a circuit diagram
Undertake 1st stage repair on test rigs
Provide a good technical explanation of a fault
Effectively repair existing and new equipment of any given product, with limited training.
Design basic test equipment to aid repair.
Work with Lean techniques such as VSM, 5S and other continuous improvement principles
Use basic project management skills, i.e., when given a new project or product to work on, he/she can:
create a simple test procedure, allowing testing of the product to be handed to another technician (or operator)
create a 1st stage analysis sheet allowing the repair of common fails to be performed by others
Meet or exceed performance targets as set by the Service Repair Centre Manager
What are the skills and experience that we’re looking for:
Studying part time towards a suitable Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC/BTEC National Certificate
Successfully progressed through the first or second year Electrical/Electronic Engineering exams
A natural problem solving, analytical mind that enables you to take a methodical approach that delivers solutions.
Commitment to working with Lean techniques such as VSM, 5S and other continuous improvement principles that you can demonstrate to other members of the team
Benefits:
Starting salary of £22K raising to £25k on successfully achieving your Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification.
Experience related pay award for the first 5 years (this is in addition to standard annual pay award).
Paid college day release to allow you complete your Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualifications.
A very attractive standard working pattern of Monday to Thursday 0815-1700 and 0815-1245 on Friday!
