The successful candidate will be expected to provide actuarial support on individual account pricing and project work for all underwriting departments across Europe, with the position being located in Allied World’s London office. Senior Underwriter, Europe Marine Division Analyse and prepare submissions prior to underwriting, including account research and preparation for client and broker meetings. Prepare quotes and bind accounts in underwriting systems as underwritten or as directed by other team underwriters. Perform underwriting referrals with manager following account analysis, including thorough reviews of underwriting submissions. Assist with the development of account pricing/recommendations/peer review. Undertake renewal monitoring and renewal process management Liaise with brokers on account administration matters, including premium and outstanding underwriting documentation. At least 5+ years’ demonstrable experience in Cargo or similar line with expertise and in-depth working knowledge of standard market policy and endorsement wordings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaison with clients and brokers including delivering effective presentations and building strong working and networking relationships. Strong marketing and business development capability — commercial acumen; Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and in using an underwriting system.
