Job Description

The Howard League for Penal Reform is looking to recruit a Campaigns and Communications Manager.

Working with the Director of campaigns, the campaigns and communications manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a communication strategy that works across the campaigns, research, legal and membership functions of the charity. This role consists of managing the organisation’s forward planning process, coordinating communication activities for the launch of campaigns, publications and events. The Campaigns and Communications Manager will also work with key members of staff across the organisation to develop marketing and communication plans at the outset of planned projects, including extensive post-launch activity to sustain momentum over time.

The Ideal candidate must have at least five years of experience in campaigning and communications with a track record of success in achieving change, experience of managing campaigns and influencing public opinion, including decision–makers and the media with the ability to network effectively with senior media contacts and develop relationships as well as sound analytical skills and the ability to understand and identify key issues.
