Job Description

The VSM interacts closely with the VPM Vendor Program Manager to achieve study objectives specifically for its assigned categories:

  1. Reviewing of the vendor and category related specific sections of the protocol, ensuring vendor expertise is leveraged when refining specifications towards Final Protocol.

  2. Contributing to the development of the Study Specification Worksheet (SSW) to facilitate the bid process and selection of Vendors.

  3. Quote/Proposal review in collaboration with procurement (and vendor). If required, support contract negotiations.

  4. Vendor budget review of final quotes.

  5. Co-ordinates vendor kick-off meeting and other vendor specific meetings.

  6. Collects HA submission documents from vendor, as requested by countries participating in a study.

  7. Performs robust changes to protocol or study designs that are consistently shared with vendors and incorporated into supplier budgets, timelines, and specifications. Supports the amendment of vendor contracts with the Procurement team.

  8. Optimizing a frontloaded and timely study start-up process in support of a timely vendor DB-go-live.

  9. Vendor service excellence at study level, ensuring vendors meet quality and service level standards in their service delivery for the trial.

  10. Pro-actively creates and maintains vendor related risk maps with contingency plans for documentation in FIRST.

  11. Document issues identified with vendor oversight/performance in FIRST tool and implements and monitors corrective actions. Escalates issues if required to the Vendor Category Expert (VCE).

  12. Drive root cause analysis of supplier performance issues and look for trending.

  13. Supports the implementation of standards, templates, tools, and processes for vendors at SSU for defined categories in collaboration with the VCE.

  14. Using Unified Vendor Portal (UVP) to manage vendor service delivery.

  15. Supports practice leaders in improvement projects and learning loops.

  16. Collaborate with VP&G to provide data for vendor qualification efforts.

Qualifications required:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in health care or other scientific discipline required.

  2. Excellent communication skills.

  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of the English language.

  4. Previous experience in managing laboratory vendors for clinical trials projects.
