The Role

Feast It has recently added Venues to our portfolio, and now we’re scaling the offering within our wider business, so we need a Venue Sales Lead to manage our expansion into the vertical. The role will be a blend of owning your own sales and working to improve the full Venues experience; including product, marketing and operations. You will be leading a startup in microcosm within the business to make our venues vertical work seamlessly!

As Venue's are so crucial to the event booking experience, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the next stage of our growth. You will constantly innovate to create a better place for customers to book their venues; offering incredible matchmaking and customer service.

You’ll manage our venue commercial team; An Account Manager and Venue Partnerships Manager. You will also be the key representative of venues to other internal teams, working closely with product, engineering, marketing & operations to ensure we’re building a compelling offering for venue customers.

You will have a lot of autonomy on how the department is run, but the role will most likely involve regularly being out and about visiting venues, both to onboard them to the platform and to help our customers on site visits.

The role will report into and work closely with the Commercial Director and communicate regularly with Founders.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall P&L ownership for the venue vertical on Feast It: you’ll be responsible for drawing together all the elements needed to ensure we hit our sales targets
  • Venue supply onboarding: Work with our Venue Partnerships Manager to ensure we are bringing the best venues to the Feast It platform and meet targets for supply numbers
  • Customer journey mapping: Ensure that our customers receive the optimal journey when enquiring through Feast It so we’re maximising conversion rate from enquiry to booking
  • Venues conversion rate: Refine our sales processes and techniques to enable us to hit our targets.
  • Cross-sell: Help us get better at cross-selling. We’re transitioning to a multi-vertical event platform and the art of sales and your expertise will be critical to success.
  • Building out the commercial team for venues: as your team delivers on sales targets you’ll have the opportunity to scale the team to unlock further growth.

Requirements

  • Have direct experience within the venues industry, preferably within the commercial sector. Marketplace experience is a bonus.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset for innovation as well as the ability to solve problems end-to-end
  • The ability to grow and manage a team will also be integral, so you’ll need previous management experience, particularly in rapidly-scaling organisations.
  • You’ll be an authority on sales best practices, tactics and strategies. You’ll be leant on as the sales subject matter expert within the business, so you will need to be forthcoming with your expertise.
  • You’ll have a flair for finding solutions and getting things done. We’re a startup, so you’ll need to lead from the front by strategising and executing in equal measure.
  • Are emotionally intelligent, empathetic and personable. We care about our customers and take their needs seriously, so we need you to show that too!
  • Excited to be part of a team and up for the journey. Startups are hard work, but we have fun whilst we do it and enjoy celebrating the wins.
