Job Description

This is an opportunity for you to truly have the support to shape the standards of care provided in a locally owned and run practice supporting the local community.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Lichfield, Vets4Pets in Staffordshire. The role is within a relatively new practice with a team who work well within the wider group and their clients. Many of the team have been here since the doors opened and works hard to maintain a positive environment Tudor our experienced vet has been with the Group across different practices and settled in Lichfield, as it’s a nice part of the country. He has an interest in soft tissues surgery, ophthalmology and internal medicine. The team enjoy Lichfield as it provides all the benefits of Birmingham within a beautiful ecclesiastical centre, that has avoided industrial and commercial development with over 230 listed buildings (including many examples of Georgian architecture) and preserves much of its historic character.

Our Head Nurse Lesley started her career as a Riding Instructor but changed direction and trained as a Veterinary Nurse who has worked across GP, referral practices and emergency hospitals. She thrives on building great relationships with the practice clients. Lesley loves theatre, monitoring anaesthetics and Nurse Clinics where she gets to know her clients on a personal level.

Our practice owner Gabriel would agree the clinics main strength is being run and owned by local people delivering the best practice possible for the local community of Lichfield and surrounds. This offers the team the opportunity to personalise the care on offer and ensures that each member of the team has a real voice in how care is delivered to their patients enabling a real “proud to be part of the team” work ethos. As an experienced vet you will be the role model for your clinical team and be motivated to develop individuals to reach their own full potential.

Being based within a Pets at Home store we have an excellent relationship with these colleagues as well and benefit from collaborative working. Parking is easy as we are on a retail park, with a variety of shops locally and a fully equipped gym which our team can get discounted membership.

The ideal vet to join us will be a keen team player, have excellent communication skills and be able to build great relationships with our clients and their pets. You should be confident in routine surgical and medical cases and comfortable with sole charge.

What makes this role different for you!

This is a full-time role and will be for 40 hours per week. There is no OOH’s and so when you are finished for the day you are always able to rest and recharge. However, we are passionate about allowing people to create a work life balance that suits

them, so if you are looking at a more flexible working arrangement please get in touch as we will be happy to discuss this.

In addition to a rewarding role in a superb location which has excellent transport links, you can also expect to receive:
