Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.
Here at Adams Vets we are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances are different, because of this we’re happy to offer flexibility with hours, duties and where you’ll be based.
What’s on offer?
- A salary of up to £63,000, along with a welcome bonus of £5000 and relocation support of up to £5000!
- The opportunity to create a role that’s right for you.
- The chance to work as a part of a close-knit team that prides itself on supporting each other.
About the Role
A full-time role would involve working from 9:00am to 6:30pm with two scheduled gaps for catching up with admin. We offer our Vets the choice of working 4 full days (8.5 hours) with 1 weekday off or 3 full and 2 half days (4 hours), our full time roles equate to just over 35 hours per week. As mentioned above, we value our teams' work-life balance and understand how important it is to provide different options to suit individual needs. Our Vets currently work 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (consults only). Whilst we don't offer an out-of-hours service, we occasionally accept stable overnight inpatients for intravenous fluid therapy. Ideally we’re looking for a candidate to cover operations & consults, however we can support consults only if you’d prefer. Our surgical team spends their time equally split between our Wavertree and Fazakerley sites. We’re more than happy to base you at one site if you’d prefer that.
About Us
At Adams Vets, we work as one team split between our two branches, Fazakerley and Wavertree. Our Fazakerly Clinic is situated in North Liverpool with excellent transport links to the surrounding area and free parking on site. Our Wavertree clinic is situated in South Liverpool near lots of lovely restaurants, cafes, and bars (perfect for a staff night out). Our clinics are equipped with radiography, ultrasonography, tonometry, microscopy, full laboratory, dedicated inpatient wards, operating theatres, and consulting rooms.
We are a close-knit team that prides ourselves in delivering excellent patient care. Between our 2 clinics we have 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 3 Veterinary Care Assistants and 3 Receptionists. Our practice cat, Cham, is a much-loved part of our team and an excellent lunch break lap warmer. We work closely with local rescue centres and hold team events to raise money for charity. Most recently, we walked 1 million steps in 7 days to raise money for Vet Life! One of the benefits of working with us is that you’ll have your rota confirmed for the year ahead, we like our staff to have consistency with their working weeks so you’ll always have the same day off.
Applicant Requirements
Suitable candidates should be confident performing routine surgeries such as neuters, dentals, and mass removals. Good communication skills are essential along with sharing our core values and being a team player. They should be RCVS registered.
