Job Description

If you are an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon looking for a new challenge, we have the perfect opportunity for you at our Stoke Festival Park Vets4Pets.

Stoke is in the heart of Staffordshire just off the M6 around 1 hour south of Manchester and an hour north of Birmingham. If you prefer the countryside, the Peak District is a short drive through historical neighbouring towns and is ideal for day hikes. The practice itself is located on Festival Heights retail park on the North outskirts of Stoke city centre, close to local amenities and public transport links. Is it also close to the A500 which links the city to the M6 making it the ideal location if you are commuting from nearby towns and cities.

The team in practice is made up of 3 vets, 3 RVN’s, 1 SVN, and 4 receptionists, and is led by our partners Cat and Craig who between them have 37 years of veterinary experience, with the last 9 years running this practice. One of our vets in practice has an interest in Ultrasound so if this is something that you have an interest in then it would be beneficial, however if you have other interests or specialisms, we are open to you exploring these and creating your own case load.

We are flexible on the hours that we are looking for, whether you have childcare requirements and can only commit to part time hours, or if you are looking for full time work, we can accommodate both. As a team we aim to focus on the work-life balance of all our colleagues and therefore we have no OOHs requirements, and our partner Cat covers the weekends so there would be minimal weekends to cover holidays.

We are looking for a veterinary surgeon who is experienced in the role and is confident dealing with the cases in a solo capacity, and someone who can support other vets in practice and create their own caseload. In practice we run 15-minute consults with additional time added into your diary to catch up on any outstanding paperwork so that you can leave on time.

In addition to the flexibility around working hours, we can also offer a competitive salary which is based on your level of experience, a generate CPD allowance and support towards a certificate, a contributory pension scheme, professional memberships paid, and access to exclusive company and high street retailer discounts.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
