We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic, and skilled full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our small yet busy team at Alder Veterinary Practice. The successful candidate will be confident in all first opinion duties and comfortable with sole charge on occasion. You will be joining our well-established team of 3 Veterinary Surgeons; the role is hugely varied and will include consults and operating daily and caring for our very loyal and friendly client base.
You will be required to work 40 hours per week across 4 days, with 1:5 Saturday day times. No bank holiday or out-of-hours are involved as we are covered by VetsNow.
The salary will be up to £70,000 depending on experience + Welcome bonus of up to £5,000.

About Us
We have two very well-established surgeries in the Lincolnshire market towns of Spalding and Bourne, both of which have a loyal client base of well over 20 years. We are situated close to the historic town of Stamford where you can visit Burghley House, Burghley Horse Trials, or Rutland Water, and Peterborough is approximately half an hour away with direct train lines into London.
Both practices are equipped with digital radiography ( recently purchased and upgraded to DR system), ultrasounds, endoscope, and in-house blood testing equipment. We also have good-sized theatres and consult rooms for our varied first opinion cases. Our Spalding branch has very recently been refurbished to a high spec finish and our Bourne branch is next on the list!
Our friendly team comprises of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Nursing Assistants, and a full team of Receptionists. None of us could do our jobs properly without each other! We are a very encouraging team who are always willing to step in and work together in times of need and we work hard to provide the highest standards in client and animal care. Our Veterinary Surgeons will always talk through all options of care with our clients to ensure they are making the most informed choices, and we work closely with various referral practices to be able to offer that option if required.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable with sole charge on occasion but also confident in all first opinion duties. You should have good communication skills and be able to listen to both your team and your clients. Animal care should be at the forefront of your mind.
