The Role
We are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon for our Midforest Veterinary team. You’ll work in our Totton branch with a good balance between consulting and operating. You’ll be working in team with other veterinary surgeons, RVNs, SVNs and our client services members. Good communication skills, team player and can do attitude is always welcome.
We encourage our Veterinary Surgeons to have clinical freedom, case independence, and continuity with an interesting and varied caseload. You’ll work in a supportive team environment. We would happily support and encourage you in developing your own clinical interests and career advancement. We of course have the various in-house diagnostic equipment to aide you, along with a local IVC referral centre.
We are looking for full time or part time applicants, to include 2:5 Saturdays (pro rata for part time). There is no on-call, and our OOH is covered by VetsNow. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, we can find the right solution for you.
The salary for this role is up to £63,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
About Us
Midforest Veterinary Practice has been established for over 20 years, with 2 branches, our larger site in Totton, Southampton and the other site is in beautiful Lyndhurst. Our friendly, supportive, experienced team prides themselves on providing the best care for pets and clients alike. Maintaining a good working environment for all staff is of high importance to us, which is proven in our low staff turnover. We are right next door to the beautiful New Forest with its wild ponies, amazing footpaths and village pubs. You’d be close to both Bournemouth and Southampton city centres. From Southampton you can easily get a train to the picturesque city of Winchester and it’s on an hour’s train ride from Southampton Central to London. Don’t forget you also get the rest of the South coast to visit and explore. There are some wonderful local schools near us and in Southampton city, so it’s a great place for family life.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in all aspects of general practice as there will be the occasional sole charge duties. The successful applicant will be as happy in the consult room as in theatre. The successful applicant will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Developing client bonds and case continuity is very important in this role. There is clinical freedom to work up your own cases and the caseload would support studying towards a certificate, which the Practice will fully support.
