The Role
Here at Park Veterinary Centre, we are looking for a dedicated Veterinary surgeon to join our team. The role will consist of carrying out consultations and surgical work.
The full time rota will involve working 40 hours per week spread over 4 days. Weekends are worked on a rota basis, approximately 1:2 Saturdays, to include one full weekend every 5/6 weeks to provide in-patient cover and morning out of hours. VetsNow provides our overnight cover.
Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, we can find the right solution for you.
The salary is up to £65,000 depending on experience.
About Us
Park Veterinary Centre is a well-established first opinion practice, with roots in Hertfordshire going back over 100 years. We are close to the local countryside while being only a short train journey from London. You will be joining a busy, well-equipped practice, where every team member, including reception, accounts staff, veterinary care assistants, Vets, and Nurses, aspire to achieve higher standards. Along with RCVS GP status, we are a nurse training practice, with well-trained Registered Veterinary Nurses, many of whom are working towards advanced certifications.
We are fully equipped with ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ECG, and multi-modal monitors.
We currently have 7 FTE Veterinary Surgeons and 13 Registered Veterinary Nurses/Students. We also employ several Support Staff so that our clinical team can concentrate on patient care. One of our Veterinary Surgeons has recently passed her GPCert, and one has a special interest in exotics, and along with several of our Nurses helps a local wildlife charity with their veterinary needs. Our Vets are diagnosticians, medics, and surgeons, and we are keen to support special interests and CPD.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for someone to add to our current team’s knowledge, ideally with some experience in more complex cases, although support can be provided by our experienced team. The successful candidate will be a team player, enthusiastic and able to provide exceptional care to our clients.
