Job DescriptionOur Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. We are determined and always professional in our approach to each and every case and we never judge, we're just here to help.As Volunteer Coordinator, you will promote, coordinate and support volunteering across the Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service, developing a high-quality volunteering programme. You will work in collaboration with the team to identify opportunities for volunteers to support us and facilitate their recruitment, selection, induction and training. You will also lead on client Involvement activities, promoting meaningful opportunities and ensuring our forums are engaging and ensure our client voice is listened and responded to.Reporting into the Treatment and Recovery Manager, you will work closely with both the service management team and our central volunteer management team. As well as this, your role will involve: Developing and maintaining effective relationships with local partner agencies, community groups, charities and organisations to promote volunteering opportunities Providing advice and support to staff who are working with, managing and/or supporting volunteers Dealing promptly and professionally with all enquiries relating to volunteering to ensure positive outcomes for volunteers and With You Supporting development of organisational skills and knowledge based training packages (to include substance misuse and related issues) suitable for volunteers Undertaking monitoring of all aspects of the volunteering programme and recording to the standards of accuracy and detail required by funders and With YouActing as an effective advocate for volunteering throughout the service and across the organisation, keeping fully up to date with external developments and best practise in volunteering policy and practice Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the service to manage their volunteers effectively and in line with best practice. You will hold a Volunteer Management Qualification (or be able to demonstrate significant experience of managing volunteer programmes) with experience of delivering induction and training programmes, being dedicated to empowering volunteers and supporting those affected by substance misuse.You will have knowledge of best practice in volunteering, with the ability to support colleagues to deliver high quality volunteering experiences. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and be able to manage your time effectively.
