MHM - Group Support Volunteers Service: Leicester Community Connectors Service Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm Location: St Matthews and Spinney Hills, New Parks, Beaumont Leys, Eyres Monsell and Saffron, Northfields, and Abbey. We provide services across England, from Northumberland to Plymouth, led by a highly motivated and enthusiastic workforce who are committed to delivering the best quality services to those in need of support. The Community Connectors Service Volunteers will take a community centred approach to build confident and connected communities with the aims of reducing isolation and loneliness, improving physical and mental health, and reducing health inequalities. The Service will take a holistic approach to addressing isolation and loneliness, ensuring that, in addition to organising social activities and events, people are gently supported and encouraged to make other changes leading to better health and wellbeing and greater social inclusion. About the role Our Volunteers are incredibly important in supporting the work we do, and we like to work with those who offer their time to find the best role that fits! Working alongside Community Connectors, you can support in person or virtual group sessions and events. These groups will include activities such as, arts and crafts, Coffee mornings, walking groups, cooking classes, book clubs and many more. We are keen to hear about any skills or interests you may have, to incorporate this in our community groups. This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in health and social care services and a desire to support individuals to feel socially connected to their local community. About you Are you passionate about helping other people? Do you have empathy towards others? Do you want to make a difference to the communities of Leicester? If you have a few hours to spare each week and would love to make a difference to the people of Leicester, we would love to hear from you! Full training and development will be provided, and no previous experience is necessary. Due to the role, our volunteers will need to be over 18 and will be expected to complete an Enhanced DBS check for Adults and Children.
