Julian House is a charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We run several projects and every year we help thousands of people out of homelessness, into employment, away from domestic abuse, and more.

The Role:
Julian House is looking for self-motivated, outgoing and empathetic person who could volunteer to provide support to vulnerably housed, rough sleepers or someone using homelessness services in Basingstoke.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work alongside the Assertive Outreach Workers and Navigators. You will be helping to identify people who are sleeping rough or homeless and helping them to engage with Agencies. This will involve walking around Basingstoke and engaging with people during outreach hours.
Although this is a flexible role, commitment will be agreed with individuals depending on their availability.
This can range from 2 hours a month to 2 hours a week.
The Outreach Session takes place on Saturday Morning from 7am 9am and Sunday Evening from 6pm - 8pm
You will receive regular contact and support from the volunteer coordinator. This role is subject to a DBS (disclosure & barring service) check being completed.

Ideally, we ask that you:
Are over the age of 18 years old
Have a desire to help improve other peoples lives
Have the ability to work with people who may have offending behaviours, substance use, or mental health issues with sensitivity and respect.
Are reliable and empathetic
We particularly welcome applicants with experience of using and moving on from support services.
