Job overview

A core part of Preqin’s growth plan is to continue to build out and develop our market leading data platform which serves the alternative assets market. Our Company Intelligence Business Unit serves our Investment Team customers and is an area with significant growth potential for the company. You’ll be joining at an exciting time when the strategy is still being formed, and there are numerous ways to make an impact for our business and our clients.

As VP, Product you will be responsible for leading product development within a Business Unit, focused on building product for a major customer group and will be a key driver of business growth. You will report into the Head of Product and work closely with your Business Unit head, playing a leading role in a cross-functional team building industry leading products for our customers.

You’ll lead a team of Product Managers, and work closely with colleagues in our engineering and design teams, global research teams, customer success, sales, and marketing teams to determine the strategic direction and operational delivery of the company’s products.

In this role you will:

  • Understand our customers and understand what they care about. Find the most effective ways to help them.
  • Set the product strategy for your area, work closely with the business lead and a cross-functional team to identify how to drive customer outcomes.
  • Launch new products and features, test their performance in meeting our customers goals and iterate quickly and decisively.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, design and sales, getting everyone aligned around and executing against a common vision.
  • Develop yourself and your Product team – share what you’ve learned, and work with the people around you to find ways to do things better.

You are a good fit if:

  • You care about customers deeply – you’re obsessed with finding out what their problems are, and how we are going to solve them.
  • You have a commercial mindset, and are able to apply a great understanding of customers, the market and our products to identifying where the biggest opportunities are.
  • You’re a great executor, with a track record of getting product to customers quickly and iteratively.
  • You’re evidence based, using data, customer feedback and market insight to help us to build industry leading products.
  • You’re honest, self-aware and evidence based on how you and your team are doing, and continuously look for ways to improve.
  • You act like an owner – you take responsibility for problems, and if you see something wrong, you make it better.
  • Experience of working in alternatives, fintech, or financial services more broadly is a big plus, though not essential.
