If you are passionate about the environment and keen on leading a European team to elevate the environmental compliance space within Amazon, this role is for you. Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team is looking for a motivated, analytical, hands-on, and results-oriented leader to build the European environmental compliance strategy and implement it across the Customer Fulfillment (CF) network.

The Environmental PM will lead EU Donations and Waste programs by working closely with cross functional EU Ops, RME, and ACES teams and influencing Global Tech and EAP to improve existing processes and develop tech products to drive environmental compliance, process standardization, and performance management. This role will work with a team of technical EAP Global and regional experts to define and deliver against the EU environmental three-year plan and strategy. The PM will drive shared goals with Sustainability, Zero waste and Circular Economy to improve on waste management and donations KPIs; Legal to identify and close legal compliance gaps; Finance and Procurement to identify savings opportunities and efficiencies from waste vendor contracts and donations process; Analytics and Tech to leverage technology to improve data accuracy; and WW EAP teams to share best practices and ensure global standard implementation.

A successful candidate will have an established background in managing programs including budget allocation and tracking, scaling processes with cross functional teams, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates will be curious, thinking big, highly motivated and effective within distributed teams. Comfortable with ambiguities, conflicting priorities and multi-cultural team.


Key job responsibilities
- Align the strategy with Sustainability on Donations and Waste compliance goals;
- Drive EAP process improvements focusing on permitting, donations and waste, by working with Central Ops and Sustainability teams, tech and analytics;
- Define the long-term strategy and end state for collaboration of Amazon with 3P vendors, to achieve the 3Y compliance goals and bridge current gaps;
- Identify KPIs to manage performance, data quality and cost of existing EU waste and donation processes;
- Establish mechanisms to control spent and performance, and align yearly targets with Finance and Sustainability;
- Influence tech teams to develop long term solutions to manage waste segregation, return and disposal more efficiently. Integrate 3P tech solutions with Amazon to optimize end to end flows;
- Create a framework to review waste disposal compliance, including operating permits, licenses and authorizations. Utilizing risk assessments and compliance evaluations, lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize environmental aspects and impacts.
- Build trust with Ops, Sustainability, and other key stakeholders by providing support in delivering Amazon compliance and Sustainability goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- 5+ years experience in compliance, audit or risk management
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering or related field of study.
- Broad knowledge of EU and EU country specific hazardous waste regulations, programs and processes.
- Experience leading change in multiple site environments (travel up to 25%) and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Sr. Managers and Directors
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree or equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
