Wireless FPGA and DSP Developers

Several significant opportunities have arisen within a leading intelligence, cyber and space organisation in the UK, who develop exciting technology to protect the UK's interests. The client is currently looking for talented individuals to join one of their most advanced teams, responsible for developing ground-breaking products across space technology, underwater systems and software radios.

Role

You will join a highly skilled, diverse team of engineers and developers working across an advanced tech stack within wireless product development for an exciting customer base. The client is actively looking to bring aboard candidates at various levels, including graduates, junior/mid-level developers as well as those more experienced with team or technical leadership capabilities.

Depending on your experience and interest, you will have the opportunity to work across both FPGA design for software defined radio solutions and DSP (Digital Signal Processing) algorithm design using Matlab.

Again, depending on your skills and preferences, you will also have the opportunity to manage technical projects or people, mentor other team members, engage with significant customers, broaden your technical expertise and uptake/work towards technical leadership.

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2:1 degree from an Engineering/Physics/Maths discipline. MSc/MEng and PhD graduates are highly attractive.
Ability to produce high-quality FPGA designs.
Understanding of FPGA and System-on-chip architectures.
Interest in wireless technology, defence, space or cyber.
Desirable:
Any experience in the following is very attractive:
FPGA development using VHDL.
Understanding of radio communications.
Understanding of DSP (digital signal processing).
Development on Linux.
Software development experience in MATLAB, C++ or Python.
Understanding of digital and/or analogue hardware design with some hands-on laboratory experience of debug/set-to-work.

Salary & Benefits

On offer is a baseline salary of £34,000 - £65,000. On top of baseline salary, all successful candidates will also receive full private medical, life care, incapability benefit, 6% pension and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and lots more. Mid-senior developers are also eligible for a bonus between 7% and 9% as well as a £4,000 annual car allowance. Candidates will need to be on-site in Guildford full time. There are multiple flexible working options available. Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be a UK national to apply for this position.
