Womenswear Designer - Freelance
The location of the role is Paddington, London (hybrid working).
The duration of the contract is 3 weeks (starting ASAP).
The pay rate on offer is £200 - £250 per day.
Role Summary
· To design part of the range and create tech packs
· To support and assist the Designer in designing the total range and create tech packs
· To develop knowledge and skills within design and line management working towards the role of Designer
Key accountabilities of the role
· Finishing products and producing high quality tech packs
· Focus on soft products specifically - dresses, tops, silk
· Works with and supports Designer with the co-ordination of day-to-day activities and produces a high standard of CADs and Tech packs on Direct via PLM delivering a high hit rate
· Demonstrates a clear understanding of the business' customer and strong ability to anticipate their product needs
· Work closely with garment techs to bring each design to life
Key skills and experience
· Expert in the field of design with design experience within the Retail or manufacturing industry
· Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail
· Experience with PLM (or similar) preferred
· Strong understanding of fabric, fit and garment make up to ensure product integrity
· Experience in direct design sourced product, working with Technology/Design and Buying to create high standards of CAD and Tech packs
· High level of proficiency in design related CAD software to include Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design
· Multitask orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path
