This is a rare opportunity to work from home and manage your own time. 30 hrs per week based on an hourly rate equivalent of £35,000-£40,000 per year (pro rata) depending on experience. Location within the UK is not important as we are almost entirely digital. Communicating with clients will be done via phone, email, letter and video conference (Zoom). The director of Together We Count is looking for a right-hand person to ease the workload of this fast-growing company. You will be joining a small team of enthusiastic, ambitious, friendly and supportive people, so similar personality traits are important. This is a client-facing role (via Zoom and teams mainly) so excellent communication skills are a must. General all-round knowledge and experience of being an accountant in practice essential. Responsibilities: Prepare, review as well as complete and submit year-end accounts, CT600, and Corporation Tax computations by the team. Prepare as well as review and complete Self-Assessment Tax Returns, CIS, P11ds and other HMRC filing requirements. Coordination and management of VAT, and other administrative duties as required. As this is a small practice you will be required to muck in. Meet statutory deadlines for VAT, Statutory Accounts, Company and Self-Assessment Tax Returns. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients. Taking on and managing new clients. Dealing with client queries Chasing clients for information so we can complete work. Growing the business through referrals. Offer bespoke accountancy, taxation and tax planning advice. Respond to client enquiries in line with the company guarantee policy. Manage the client relationship whilst building a strong rapport and developing client loyalty. Assist with the day-to-day running of the practice Helping and developing other team members Updating the team and clients on tax changes Other training to other members of the team to develop and improve the practice as a whole Quality control and file reviews of colleagues. Supporting team members with more complex accounting scenarios. Support the team, and Client Managers, to continuously deliver the agreed level of service. Skills & Experience Experience within an accountancy practice is essential with at least 7 years of experience Previously been responsible for managing a portfolio of a diverse range of clients A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ ATT / FMAAT) is a must Knowledge of HMRC guidelines etc Knowledge of investment properties, buy to lets, share dealing accounts Sound knowledge of the construction industry as well as domestic reverse charge Competent in the use of Taxcalc, Pixie, Xero, Hubdoc, Syft, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is highly desirable Happy to review work and get jobs over the line and submit accordingly Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and attention to detail If you think you are the person for the job, please apply with a cover letter.
