Your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:Manage Work In Progress (WIP), oversee the workshop team and regularly manage customer expectationsAs a key member of the dealer management team, the Workshop Controller’s core role is to proactively manage the GVS process from “planning, through On Arrival” to “Invoice / Claim” closureEnsuring that service and repair work is completed to time and quality standards and all invoice / claim documents are complete and accurateManaging customer expectations, job profitability and workshop productivity targets will be a daily focus to ensure that workshop profitability is optimisedCarry out regular process reviews with your Dealerpoint Manager to identify operational issues / discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow up actions are taken to rectifyManage the performance of the service department to ensure that KPI targets are achievedHold daily production meetings to Plan workload and resources, Review identified issues from previous shift and identify appropriate solutions consistent with standard OTI process requirementsAnticipate production problems based on forward plan / resources and provide active support to handle workloadActively participate in the Dealerpoint’s Commercial Crew CRM meetings following the CRM processAssist the Dealerpoint Manager in the production of the annual business planWho are you?You will hold City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle or equivalent and have previous experience of supervising in a commercial vehicle workshop. You will be knowledgeable in VOSA requirements, MOT Testers manual, Warranty and Contract scope and procedures, workshop KPIs and understand Operators License Laws and Regulations.You will require experience of leading a team, with the ability to motivate, coach, guide others in their objectives. Having excellent written and verbal communication skills is a strong requirement, as well as having the ability to work daily with spreadsheets and in-house IT systems, to be able to manage productive man hours and unsold man hours.You must be able to work in an organised and methodical manner, ensuring all daily tasks are completed.
